Yemen’s Houthi leader Abdul-Malik al-Houthi has issued a warning to Pakistan and Turkey amid the escalating confrontation between the Houthis and Saudi Arabia. In a speech broadcast on Houthi-run Al-Masirah television, al-Houthi accused Saudi Arabia of seeking military support from Pakistan and Turkey and urged both countries not to be “dragged” into the conflict for political or economic interests with Riyadh. The warning comes into focus because Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Türkiye signed the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement in August. The pact states that an attack on one signatory will be considered an attack on all three.
