Rajya Sabha erupted in chaos during the debate on the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026, after Leader of the Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge referred to the Manusmriti while criticizing the government's education policies. Leader of the House JP Nadda strongly objected, demanding that Kharge authenticate his remarks and warning that such statements could disrupt social harmony.
