However a red alert signifies a critical 'take action' warning, advising people to avoid exposure to the heat, drink plenty of fluids, and reduce outdoor activities. It highlights a very high risk of heat illness and heat stroke for people of all ages, urging caution for vulnerable individuals

The city is also experiencing poor air quality, with an AQI of 225 recorded at 2 PM. The IMD predicts partly cloudy skies for June 12th and 13th, accompanied by dust storms and winds gusting up to 60 kmph
