Workers installed overhead equipment (OHE) and wires for Mumbai Metro-9 near Kashigaon station in Mira Road (East) on Monday. The project, undertaken by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), is an extension of the existing Mumbai Metro Line-7 (Red Line) between Andheri and Dahisar to Mira Road (PICS/SATEJ SHINDE)

Once fully operational, the metro line will provide direct commute to Mumbai Airport via Metro Lines 7 and 7A, Andheri (West) via Line 2B, Ghatkopar via Lines 7 and 1, Link Road via Line-2A at Dahisar (East), Thane via Line-10 (future development), Vasai-Virar via the upcoming Line-13
