A man was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly killing a person by striking him with a concrete block during a road rage fight in Santacruz (East),an official stated, reported PTI.&nbsp;
Ahmed Ansari, the accused, had allegedly attacked Omprakash Mahul Sharma (41) with a 'paver block' (used to pave footpaths) on Sunday.
Ansari, who was riding a motorbike with his wife, suddenly stopped in front of Sharma which led to a quarrel, the official said.
The couple then attacked Sharma. The accused, Ansari, allegedly picked up a paver block from the road and hit Sharma on the face multiple times.
As per PTI, Sharma was taken to hospital by some by passers, and was allowed to go home after treatment.
On Monday Sharma fell unconscious. He was again admitted to hospital where he died on Wednesday

However, a strengthening American currency against major currencies overseas ahead of the US Federal Reserve's interest rate decision capped the sharp gain in the local unit, forex traders said.
At the interbank foreign exchange, the rupee opened at 86.60 and touched the intraday low of 86.68 against the greenback. The unit also hit the day's peak of 86.36 before ending the session at 86.37, up 19 paise against its previous close.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday that the incentive scheme for promoting low-value UPI transactions, which was approved by the Union Cabinet, will encourage digital payments and further improve "ease of living".
Reacting to a host of decisions taken by the Cabinet on Wednesday, he said the approval of construction of six-lane access controlled 29.219-km greenfield highway starting from JNPA Port (Pagote) to Chowk in Maharashtra is in line with the vision of PM Gatishakti and ensuring quicker connectivity to and from ports.
"This project will add momentum to the growth of the regions around Mumbai and Pune," Modi said in a post on X, lauding it as an important infrastructure project. In another post, he said, "The Cabinet's approval for a new Brownfield Ammonia-Urea Complex at BVFCL, Namrup, Assam will enhance domestic urea production, benefit farmers in the Northeast &amp; Eastern India and create new employment opportunities."

Primarily, the electric current entered the railing due to power leakage from its main source, police said.

Speaking to ANI, DCP Pimpri-Chinchwad Vishal Gaikwad said that preliminary evidence indicates the fire was caused by a short circuit in the minibus. "A call was received on 112 around 7:30 in the morning that a minibus had caught on fire in the Hinjawadi PS area, in which a few passengers have died and others have been severely injured. When the police reached the location, four people had died. Six people were shifted to a hospital for treatment. As per Prima Facie, the passengers, the driver, and the minibus were all from Vyoma Graphics company in Phase 1 and were going to the office for duty. As per Prima Facie, the fire happened due to a short circuit in the minibus," DCP Gaikwad said.
