The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) on Tuesday issued a 'yellow alert' for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and some other parts of Maharashtra, predicting thunderstorm and light rains.

In its latest Mumbai weather updates bulletin, the IMD stated that thunderstorm accompanied with lightning, light to moderate rainfall and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) at isolated places were very likely.
