Most commercially produced vegan dairy substitutes are sold in environmentally damaging packaging and at prohibitive prices. I came across Power Plant Foods, a Mahim-based start-up that bridges this gap by home-delivering freshly made and sustainably packaged soy milk and tofu.

The soy milk is sold in glass bottles, which the company collects after use. The tofu comes in compostable bags. While the milk is priced at Rs 80 a litre, the tofu costs Rs 200 per kilo.
